About the Author
Hi There!
I’m Ann, but most people call me Annie.
During the course of my life, I have always aimed to have a positive impact on those I meet. Both personally and professionally speaking, I try to see the good in people and meet them where they are. I think and act from a place of positivity, kindness, honesty, and humor.
Most people who know me would describe me as someone who “tells it to you straight” while making you laugh or smile at the same time. Now more than ever, we need more joy and laughter.
I consider myself one of the lucky ones—someone who truly “loved what I did for a living.” Throughout my decades-long career as a trusted recruiter and career coach, I had the privilege of talking to people all day. Some might say that I developed an expertise in understanding and reading people.
Connecting with individuals at their career crossroads—helping them recognize their talents and find what made them feel valued—was the greatest reward for me. There’s an incredible feeling in knowing you’ve had a positive influence on someone else.
A few years ago, I made the decision to leave corporate life early and pursue ventures that were more aligned with my heart’s desire. I was excited for my new journey and eager to continue having a positive impact on others.
My real passion has always been writing—from processing my feelings in my journal to crafting compelling pieces for work and composing humorous texts and emails.
As the world seems to be turned upside down in so many ways, it can be easy to want to take the path of least resistance—to retreat and hide under the covers. But where’s the fun in that? That’s not how I roll.
So, after decades of being a trusted advisor to many, I couldn’t ignore the calling any longer. I created this blog with the intention of being a trusted voice for others. What better ingredients for a blog than a passion for writing and a desire to inspire others to pursue more positive experiences? My version of M.A.D. - Making A Difference.
Do I miss my corporate paycheck and perks? Sure. But the peace of mind, the relaxed schedules, and the knowledge that I’m still using my voice for good and spreading positivity are priceless.
